The UW Department of Mechanical Engineering has many opportunities for undergraduate student enrichment both inside and outside the classroom. These include senior design projects, student organizations that involve participation in national competitions, faculty-guided research in our exceptional laboratories, and much more.
Recent examples of these activities include the following.
- One of our senior design project teams was selected to advance to Phase 2 of NASAās 2025 Micro-g Neutral Buoyancy Experiment Design Teams (NExT).
- The ME-supported group, WyoMoto, brought home its second championship in the Formula Hybrid-Electric Competition in New Hampshire.
- Undergraduate students participate in research with faculty, giving the students experiential learning with pressing engineering and scientific challenges. We have four energetic new faculty that are heavily focused on working with undergraduates in their state-of-the-art research labs.
Your support helps us continue to provide UW Mechanical Engineering students with unique opportunities like these. Thank you for helping us enhance student experiences and prepare our students for their future careers!
