The mission of the Service, Leadership, and Community Engagement (SLCE) Office is to cultivate engaged global citizens who are active contributors to their communities.
We offer a variety of programs including local community service projects, leadership classes, voter education and civic engagement programs, and domestic and international service-learning trips. SLCE engaged more than 840 students, faculty, staff, and community members in programs during the last academic year, and SLCE volunteers contributed 2,000 hours to their communities, which is valued at approximately $70,000!
Your gift can support the following funds:
- The Esther and Hubert Terrell Memorial Scholarship supports students who engage with SLCE programs and volunteer in their communities to honor the memories of Esther—who volunteered serving lunch for students—and Hubert—who served as a bus driver for the school district. With your help, we can continue their legacy and offer additional scholarships to our students.
- The āDo Good, Be Goodā Seeton Family Community Impact Fund provides an annual award for an outstanding student volunteer who has shown both consistent engagement in community service over an extended period of time as well as leadership in fostering unique projects or improving existing efforts with lasting outcomes. We are excited to honor the Seeton Family by naming the first recipient of the award this spring!
We so much appreciate you joining with us to improve our communities. Thank you!
