The University of Wyoming's Family Medicine Graduate Medical Education department is transforming health care across our state by training physicians who stay and serve Wyoming communities. For nearly 50 years, our Family Medicine Residency programs in Casper and Cheyenne along with our Geriatric Fellowship and Rural Training Track have provided exceptional medical education while directly addressing Wyoming's physician shortage. Over 500 physicians have graduated from our programs, with over 100 graduates currently practicing in the state.
The results speak for themselves. Our graduates consistently choose to practice in Wyoming, with alumni establishing careers from Thermopolis to Cheyenne. Dr. Tina Stanco, a 2024 Geriatric Fellowship graduate, joined our Casper faculty, while our 2025 graduating classes continue this tradition with Dr. Philip Gard, a Rural Training Track graduate, staying in Thermopolis and Dr. Sreedvya Veturi joining Casper. Other 2025 graduates are establishing practices in Buffalo and Lander. This cycle of homegrown talent is exemplified by Dr. Evan Norby, our Cheyenne Program Director and program graduate, and Dr. Brian Veauthier, our Casper Program Director and program graduate, along with other faculty members who trained here and chose to stay. This demonstrates how we're building Wyoming's health care workforce from within.
Your generous support makes an immediate impact. Gifts fund cutting-edge medical simulation equipment, resident research projects, faculty development, and innovative training experiences such as our proposed Street Medicine initiative. These investments ensure our residents receive exceptional preparation to serve Wyoming's unique health care needs.
Every contribution—whether $25 or $2,500—directly supports resident education, faculty development, and program excellence. Together, we're ensuring every Wyoming community has access to skilled compassionate physicians who call this state home.
