Wyoming History Day gets kids excited about history!
Wyoming History Day is Wyomingās component of National History Day. Working with teachers and volunteers, this year-long program engages students in grades six through twelve in the process of discovery and interpretation of historical topics. Students produce dramatic performances, imaginative exhibits, multimedia documentaries, insightful websites, and thought-provoking papers based on research related to an annual theme.
The American Heritage Center has administered this beloved and important program for nearly 30 years by overseeing all aspects of Wyoming History Day from teacher support, volunteer recruitment and training, oversight of regional competitions, to hosting of the state contest year at the University of Wyoming. With support from its partners and donors, the AHC is able to offer this incredibly valuable program, which gives students not just opportunities to learn about history but also to gain important skills in diplomacy and critical thinking. Your support goes directly toward hosting the annual contest, supporting teachers and regional coordinators, and creating opportunities for students.
