The UW Science Initiative programs are led by a team of faculty and students who are passionate about student and faculty success and providing Kā12 students and communities with engaging STEM opportunities.
Our programs include the following.
- The Learning Actively Mentoring Program (LAMP) trains STEM faculty and students on how to approach teaching as science—through Scientific Teaching—to best understand how teaching practices advance learning. Student success continues to improve in the classes of trained faculty.
- The Wyoming Research Scholars Program (WRSP) provides undergraduates with one-on-one mentored research with the very best STEM faculty at UW. Students with this experience are finding great success at UW and beyond, as they apply for jobs and pursue further educational opportunities.
- The Science Initiative Roadshow engages students, teachers, older adults, and communities across Wyoming in rich STEM experiences. These opportunities open the door for Wyoming students and community members to pursue further educational opportunities, define careers, and enrich their lives.
