Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research (WIHR)

The Wyoming Institute for Humanities Research supports high-level scholarship across the disciplines and fosters community, thought, and partnership among faculty, students, staff, and the public.

Since 2019, we have awarded 80 fellowships to UW faculty and helped support 90 events across campus and in the wider community. Our funding programs support faculty publications at each stage of the research process. In spring 2025, we awarded 15 travel grants to support field research and archival work across the world and contributed to the publication of 4 books through our subvention fund.

• Expand our funding programs that support the work of UW's humanities researchers.
• Host more interdisciplinary events that bring together scholars working in different areas.
• Develop programs for students, including scholarships, fellowships, and assistantships.
