Phi Sigma Rho

Welcome to Phi Sigma Rho at the University of Wyoming! We would like to invite you to support our chapter this Giving Day.

Founded in 1984 by a group of pioneering women at Purdue University, Phi Sigma Rho was created to support women in engineering and engineering technology. The founders—unable to participate in traditional sorority recruitment due to their demanding schedules—established a sorority that understood the unique time constraints of their field.

The Alpha Pi chapter of Phi Sigma Rho at UW, like the original Alpha class, embodies this mission. Together, our sisters laid the foundation of Phi Sigma Rho, creating symbols, rituals, and rules that have endured for over 36 years. Today, Phi Sigma Rho has expanded to more than 40 schools across the nation, maintaining its mission to unite women through shared professional ambitions and support each other through personal, academic, and professional growth.

Phi Sigma Rho is also dedicated to philanthropy, with the Phi Sigma Rho Foundation awarding scholarships and supporting initiatives like the Light the Night Walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
