Imagine being a high school student from Wyoming stepping onto the University of Wyoming campus for the first time - moving into a residence hall, walking to class, eating in the dining hall, meeting students from across the state, and beginning to picture yourself in college.
That is what HSI makes possible.
For 20 days, HSI scholars experience life at UW in a meaningful and memorable way. They take college-style classes taught by University faculty, explore subjects that challenge and excite them, and participate in activities that help them build friendships, confidence, and independence.
HSI is intentionally designed to develop the whole person. Since the program began in 1985, its purpose has been to help students learn, grow, and mature - not only as students, but as young adults preparing for what comes next.
A scholarship-supported HSI experience can be transformative. It can help a student realize that college is within reach. It can introduce them to a field they never imagined pursuing. It can connect them with mentors, peers, and a campus community that encourages them to dream bigger.
This Giving Day, we are raising $20,000 to bring 10 additional students to HSI 2027.
Your gift can help make that first college experience possible for a Wyoming student who is ready to learn, grow, and lead.
