Challenges are a great way to show your support. Be the first!
The Department of Music includes hundreds of music majors and non-music majors from across UW. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will not be able to sell tickets to our events and will lose significant revenue. Funds from this campaign will go directly to music students for instrument purchases and repairs, music purchases, student travel, and other music-student-related needs.
Rest assured, though, that the Department of Music is excited to continue to present high-quality student and faculty performances during this unusual time. While we will not be having live audiences for a while, we will be live-streaming concerts for our many patrons. We have installed a new multi-camera, high-definition, livestreaming set up in our concert hall. You may tune in to a concert live via livestream from your computer or other device or access the recording for later. Many of our ensembles will be producing high-quality recordings rather than performing live-streamed concerts.
While this is a challenging time in many ways, the Department of Music is embracing this challenge by finding new ways to teach and learn music. Our students will learn new skills in recording technology and performance media. We hope to engage our current audience while also reaching out to a larger community across the state of Wyoming to find new listeners.
You can join us and play a part in the success of UW music students! Consider supporting them today!
