Challenges are a great way to show your support. Be the first!
Would you like to help Wyoming's teachers during the current challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic?
Join the Malcolm Wallop Civic Engagement K–12 Curriculum Challenge to support our new library of virtual curriculum resources that will be free for Wyoming teachers and their students. The virtual library will include short videos from experts and faculty for social studies classroom use (e.g., topics in civics, government, history, geography, economics, etc.). It will provide an accompanying teacher resource guide that includes discussion questions and offer an exciting opportunity for students to have a live chat-back “Ask Me Anything” session with the expert to delve deeper into each topic.
The Wallop K–12 virtual library project was launched in response to an unprecedented need to provide virtual resources for civics, civic education, and social studies for Wyoming instructors to use in their classes during COVID-19.
UW’s Malcolm Wallop Civic Engagement Program supports research and service projects and meaningful dialogue focusing on local, state, national, and international problems of significant interest to Wyoming communities. This program is a partnership among UW’s College of Arts and Sciences, School of Politics, Public Affairs, and International Studies, and Office of Engagement and Outreach. The K–12 project reflects our efforts to focus on student education as part of our broader statewide community engagement commitment to reach Wyoming citizens of all ages and to fulfill UW’s land-grant mission. The project is inspired by the late Senator Malcolm Wallop. In his distinguished career serving in the U.S. Senate for three terms and also in the Wyoming legislature, he is remembered for his commitment to civil discourse, public education, and public service.
Join us on UW Giving Day and be one of 10 new donors who meet the challenge that triggers an additional $10,600 for the Wallop K–12 project.
Your support is vital for the continued growth and statewide impact of this program. Thank you for your support!
