Challenges are a great way to show your support. Be the first!
Join us for UW's sixth annual UW Giving Day and support students in History.
This year, we are directing our UW Giving Day contributions to student internships. Internships are an increasingly vital part of the undergraduate experience for our History majors. Interns work in museums, public history organizations, archives and libraries, state and local government, and elsewhere and gain skills and knowledge that will help them in their careers.
When the COVID-19 epidemic subsides, internships will be even more important than ever—and more in demand. We hope to use money raised through our campaign not only to increase the number of History internships but also to expand our reach by offering internships throughout the state. That means that when you donate to History internships, you are also donating to Wyoming communities. Having a UW intern for a semester or more can make a huge difference for small organizations, allowing them to complete unfinished projects, mount new exhibits, and revitalize existing efforts. Studies show that there is wide public interest in history, and our interns can help make sure that every Wyomingite has an opportunity to learn about it in their own community.
This year, you can make your gift go even further by donating as soon as Giving Day begins at noon on November 12th. The UW Foundation will match the first $50,000 donated to the various UW Giving Day campaigns, up to $1,000 per donor. There will also be an award for the campaign with the biggest number of donors, so we welcome your donations, whether $5 or $5,000.
Thank you for your support of History majors!
