College of Health Sciences

The UW College of Health Sciences is confronting the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as our state's other health needs. I cannot tell you how proud I am to represent the college as dean.

For the past seven months, our students, faculty, and staff have been strong leaders serving our communities, making hand sanitizer, consulting with the Department of Health about approaches to testing, screening patients outside of hospitals and clinics, and assisting with the university’s surveillance testing program.

We continue to strive for excellence as a leader in clinical and medical health education. Our students have research opportunities that very few students have at other institutions. Our faculty are engaged in a multitude of clinical, research, and service endeavors, and we make it a priority to bring our students along with us. In an effort to address Wyoming’s rural health needs, we continue to forge strategic partnerships with health and community agencies. The state will be increasingly reliant on the expertise that our faculty and students have to offer and the challenges we are eager to face. We have ambitious goals as a college. We support our students in all aspects of their education and future job success. We are also in the planning stages of a world-class health sciences facility.

As dean, I thank you for your generous gifts to the college, and I ask you to consider supporting us on UW Giving Day. Your gifts provide state-of-the-art equipment in our labs and classrooms, deliver student support and scholarships, and fund student research and travel. We cannot achieve any of this without you!

As the next generation of professionals, our graduates will help change the landscape of health and wellness in Wyoming and throughout the Mountain West. We thank you for your support and ask that you continue to empower us to make a difference.
