Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources

The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming advances the understanding and resolution of complex environmental and natural resource challenges. Members of our community engage in and impact science and policy to ensure sustainable landscapes and livelihoods through diverse programs in environmental studies, leadership, sustainability, wildlife conservation, and outdoor recreation and tourism management. We support students as well as citizens, stakeholders, and decision makers by providing the skills and tools needed to build durable, inclusive solutions to our most pressing environmental and natural resource challenges.


Through our academic programs we are educating the next generation of natural resource professionals to be thoughtful, engaged citizens and leaders. We immerse students in the practice of conservation and management through experiential and place-based approaches.


Our faculty produce and disseminate high-impact research and scholarship that serves the university’s land grant mission and elevates recognition of the Haub School’s place-based approaches from the rangelands, forests, and alpine meadows of Wyoming to the plains of Africa.


And our Ruckelshaus Institute supports effective environment and natural resource decision making through compelling communication, applied research, and collaborative decision-making approaches.
