About

The Ceramic Arts Guild Giving Day campaign aims to raise funds for students to attend the annual NCECA (National Council for Education in the Ceramic Arts) conference.

The NCECA conference is an invaluable experience for all interested in ceramic art. Students can learn more about different aspects of the medium, such as clay types, new decoration techniques, clay’s significance to other cultures, ceramic firings and kilns, and more. They are also given opportunities to meet and network with other successful artists or grad schools, an important aspect of the art world, to gain a head start on planning for their future as artists.

The money donors provide will be used to cover registration fees for the conference, flights to the venue, and room and board. Most years, we are only able to take about six students to the NCECA conference, but with help from our donors, we could be able to take ten or more, ensuring more students benefit from this trip.

The funding provided by our Giving Day donors will also go toward studio and supply costs. Our RSO doesn’t require an admission fee because members are expected to participate in our semestral sales by making and selling ceramic vessels and sculptures. Additional funds would ensure the budget for clays, glazes, and kiln maintenance is met so more members can afford to join the RSO without fear of fees in the future. We would also like to expand our collection of glazes and underglazes to provide more experienced members with more opportunities to learn glaze chemistry as well as allow students an even more expansive experience here at the University.

All support is extremely appreciated and will contribute greatly towards the continued education of ceramic arts in Wyoming.

This Student Organization receives a de minimus level of base support from the university as noted in full in the About section of the Tier 2 Student Organization campaign tile.
