Support UW psychology students conduct and present their research at academic conferences!

The L.G. Portenier Psychology Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduate students and senior undergraduate students in psychology. These funds are used to offset the costs of conducting thesis, dissertation, and honors thesis projects. It also provides funding to students to travel to present at conferences in their area of research or clinical interests.

Dr. Lillian Portenier joined the UW faculty in 1925, later becoming a full professor and chair of the Psychology department. Her major interests in psychology were related to mental testing, mental health, and child psychology. As well as teaching in these fields, she was active in applying the scientific method to society's problems.

Her legacy gift goes to a variety of student causes in the department. Thank you for supporting our students!
