The Wyoming Conservation Corps (WCC) promotes individual development and environmental stewardship through education and service. As an AmeriCorps program, WCC brings young people and community partners together to meet conservation needs across the state. This season alone, our AmeriCorps members gave 21,740 hours of service caring for Wyoming's public lands.
- It's giving outdoor recreation. We build and maintain trails, making them safer and easier to enjoy. Whether it's clearing hazard trees, improving drainage, installing new signs, or restoring campsites and picnic areas, we help increase access to the outdoors.
- It's giving healthy habitats. We replace old fencing with wildlife-friendly designs so wildlife can move freely across the landscape. Our crews also collect native seeds, build beaver dam analogs, and install wildlife water guzzlers that support healthy streams and rangelands.
- It's giving fewer wildfires. We reduce fuels, build burn piles, and fight invasive grasses to reduce wildfire risk. That work helps protect our forests and watersheds as well as the neighboring communities that rely on public lands.
- It's giving hands-on experience. Our AmeriCorps members build grit and teamwork while learning outdoor leadership, wilderness medicine, and land management practices from partners in the field. They leave with the skills, confidence, and connections to take the next step in their careers.
Every member who has served with WCC is part of our legacy, and every donor helps sustain it. Your gift provides the training, certifications, and tools that will prepare our team for the next field season. Give today to celebrate 20 years of service to Wyoming's public lands and ensure this work continues for generations to come.
The Wyoming Conservation Corps is an AmeriCorps program housed in the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming and supported by the state service commission, Serve Wyoming.
Give today to carry the legacy forward!
