About

The Student Association for Fire Ecology, or SAFE, is a new organization at the University of Wyoming. We were founded in the spring of 2026 and had five members by the end of the semester. This fall we are working on bringing in more members to allow our chapter to grow and thrive. However, this is difficult to do when we do not have funds to do things like travel to conferences or other training opportunities. Our main goal as a chapter is to get all of our members full-time jobs once they graduate. Over and above that, we would like our members to love their jobs and find purpose and passion in what they are doing. Many of our members and students who reach out to us are looking for training opportunities, so they advance their knowledge outside of the courses they are taking at the university. SAFE would love to be able to send students to some of these opportunities and are making good connections to do so. The thing that is holding us up is the funding, which is where you can help! Any support that you can give to UWYO SAFE furthers a member's knowledge in fire and allows them to get a job they love. We are beyond grateful for every gift, no matter the size. You are making an a great impact in your community by donating as we are putting fire personnel back into your community.

This Student Organization receives a de minimus level of base support from the university as noted in full in the About section of the Tier 2 Student Organization campaign tile.
