UW Visual Arts promotes creative exploration, innovation, experimentation, scholarly investigation, and interdisciplinary collaboration through our five degrees and eight minors. We offer degrees in Studio Art, Visual Communication Design, Art History, and Art Education and minors that range from Museum Studies to Metalsmithing, and from Art History to Sculpture. Our program is growing, thriving, and full of positive creative energy with over 300 majors and minors in our award winning and state of the art Visual Arts Building.
Your support would help us in two crucial areas:
· Our Visiting Artists/Scholars and Exhibition Program
· Our Post-Undergraduate Assistant Program
Our Visiting Artists/Scholars and Exhibition Program seeks to maintain our robust schedule of presentations, lectures, and exhibitions in our beautiful Visual Arts Gallery. The program brings in multiple artists and scholars each year for our students and the public to learn from and be inspired by. We seek your donations to help support our artists as they ship artwork to and from the gallery, to offer more consistent and higher honoraria for nationally and internationally recognized visiting artists and scholars, and to help support a more diverse roster of visiting artists and scholars in more equitable ways.
Our Post-Undergraduate Assistant Program helps recently graduated undergraduate students to stay on for a semester or two by providing them one-on-one mentoring, studio and/or workspace, and allowing them to shadow us in our classes and studios. The program prepares these students for the next step, whether that is applying to graduate school, job applications, moving to a new city, starting a business, or something else. Your support will help these students during this crucial transitional time after graduation.
Thank you for supporting UW Visual Arts!
