The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology is excited for another fantastic Giving Day campaign. Your donation will make a direct impact on the ability for students to participate in a variety of courses and create connections that will last a lifetime.
A degree in sociology prepares students for a broad range of career options as well as graduate and professional studies. For example, some of our former students currently work in state and federal government departments/centers, find employment as research analysts, or pursue various careers in public health. Additionally, many of our graduate students move on to Ph.D. programs and successful academic careers.
A degree in criminal justice prepares students for a variety of professions, including local, state, and federal law enforcement; court administration; law school; probation and parole; corrections; the military; homeland security; and private security.
These important careers are the bedrock of our public life, and we thank you for your generous support of our students
Study Abroad in Scotland Scholarship: A Cross-cultural Comparison of Crime, History, and Contemporary Issues
The Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology is offering a 3-credit hour study abroad to Scotland course in summer of 2023. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for our students, many whom have never been out of the country. This scholarship will offer students who may not be able to afford the costs of the class with funding to support their coursework abroad. Students will experience Scottish culture and history within the context of criminal justice including historic prisons and cross-cultural comparisons with criminal justice today. Your donation will make a direct impact on the ability for students to participate in this experience. We thank you for your generous support of our students!
