Meat judging is vital for our food supply! Consider supporting our Meat Judging Team!
Since its inception in 1965, the University of Wyoming Meat Judging program has fielded 42 teams who have competed at contests across the U.S. UW meat judging students develop and refine their abilities to evaluate beef, pork, and lamb through countless hours of practice. Meat judging develops students to be future contributors to meat and allied ag industries. Because these students are skilled practitioners who are committed and professional, they are highly sought after candidates for their future career endeavors.
The UW Meat Judging team travels across the country to compete at eight national contests each year. The team is able to travel extensively because of generous donors like you. The 2023 UW Meat Judging team will be one of the largest in recent years, which means that more fundraising efforts are needed. Your donation helps the program cover travel and overnight accommodations for each contest—the cost to travel to each contest ranges from $3,000 to $5,000. The College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources will do a dollar-for-dollar match of your donation, up to $1,000. The 2023 UW Meat Judging team hopes you are able to help them travel and compete next year!
Thank you!
