About

The UW McNair Scholars Program has earned the distinction of having supported first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented minority students at the University of Wyoming for 30 years!

To mark this anniversary, the McNair Scholars Program is establishing the Zackie and Susan Excellence Fund for McNair Scholars. This fund honors the contributions of former McNair Director, Zackie Salmon, who served McNair from 1996 to 2016, and present Assistant Director, Susan Stoddard, who has been working for McNair since the program was established in 1992!

This excellence fund will allow the UW McNair Scholars Program to expand program offerings and to better address the needs of McNair-eligible students. As we grow the Excellence Fund, we hope to develop scholarships, provide needed services, host McNair alumni for events, and contribute to this year’s 30-year anniversary celebration taking place on August 4, 2022!
