We invite you to support UW’s Ethics Club’s SparkTank 2023, which has a huge impact on students and nonprofits alike.
The purpose of UW’s Ethics Club is to promote ethical thinking in the developing character and conscience of students. The club accomplishes this in a number of ways, including its annual SparkTank event.
SparkTank has two primary purposes:
- to provide the “spark” that helps local nonprofits fulfill their missions and
- to “spark” a sense of service and philanthropy within Wyoming’s next generation of business and community leaders.
Since 2018, the Ethics Club has distributed $240,000 to local nonprofits, including an amazing $115,000 last year:
- My Front Door ($45,000),
- Albany County Safe Project ($35,000),
- Cathedral Home ($20,000), and
- Healthy Kids Rx ($15,000).
To be eligible to participate in SparkTank, nonprofits must provide essential services, such as food, shelter, safety, or clothing. This year’s nonprofit finalists are Climb Wyoming, Family Promise, Feeding Laramie Valley, and Unaccompanied Student Initiative. The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 27 at the UW College of Business. Finalists were selected based on their community impact, commitment to ethical principles, and proposed use of funding.
To enhance the impact of SparkTank 2023, UW sales students are once again collaborating with the Ethics Club to help raise funds for the event. The goal is to eclipse $140,000 this year.
Thank you for considering a charitable gift to support future generations of ethical business and community leaders in Wyoming and beyond. Every dollar raised for SparkTank 2023 will be deployed by Ethics Club members to one of the nonprofit finalists.
